Janvier 2011, J'ai passe mes vaccances avec ma femme en Europe (L'Allemagne, La France et La Swisse). C'était un peu bizarre d'y aller en hiver pour ceux qui avait vécu la bas, mais c'était un bon souvenir pour nous d'avoir vu le blanc, la fete de noel.

A good memory in VSF-CICDA or AVSF

Agronomes et Vétérinaires sans Fronitières (VSF-CICDA) is a French non governmental organization and currently working in the field of rural development in Cambodia. It’s specialized in VAHW training, VAHW and rice bank association creation and support and other related to rural development subject. Its first installation in Cambodia is in 1992 meanwhile with GRET.

After 7 months of theory class of DESS in Ho Chi Minh Ville, I decided to find a place for my 5 months final thesis writing in Cambodia for obtaining a Master’s degree of Animal Production, Hygiene, Quality and Environment from the University of François Rabelais Tours. At the meantime, I was recruited to be a french unofficial translator and co-worker with a french internship student for carrying out a study of economic impact of deworming fattening pigs in Tramkak district, Takeo province. During that time, I got lots technical supports, guidance and facilitation from local and expatriate staff members of VSF-CICDA. Thanks them for their kindnest.

Fortunately, I was promoted to be a formal livestock field officer in 19 November 2004 just few days after thesis prevention and successively as Livestock and Animal Health Advisor and Animal Health and Production Coordinator in 2 years. It was a great opportunity, provided by a well known VSF-CICDA, for a young graduated and inexperienced student like me. In response to the confidence of VSF-CICDA, I committed myself to work all the best for serving the unprivileged farmers in my own nation by providing my expertise and knowledge.
Nevertheless, my fruitful success in the career was not appeared by chance but it was happened by devoting time for work and research and supporting from VSF-CICDA Country and Regional Coordinator. Special thanks dedicated to senior VSF-CICDA staffs for their giving the golden opportunity and support and to junior staffs for their closed cooperation. I was very sad to leave all of them that we built up together lots souvenirs but I had to do it for other challenges.

Save our last drop of Water

Who has never heard and seen the Mekong River?
The Mekong River is one of the world's 10th rivers in its river length and has great influences upon nature and societies of the Indo-china Peninsula. Day by day, our valuable, shortage and limited natural resources are ruined by human being. One of them is the last drop of Mekong water. It provides everything [fishes, irrigation, mines, fertile soil ...] to everybody who is along it [Mekong] without complaining against what we have badly done with it [throwing pollutant, flowing used water into the river ...etc]. The cry of Mekong appeals for help from all of you to save it from this situation. What do we have to do to response to the call?

Visiting Rattanakiri province

Rattanakiri province is mountainous northeastern corner of Cambodia. Its city [Rattanakiri] is Banlung. Heavily jungled and home to 12 different Khmer Leu or ethnic minority groups, Rattanakiri province has a real edge-of-the world feel to it. Most visitors to Rattanakiri base themselves in Banlung city from where they make excursions to Khmer leu villages and jungle areas, waterfalls, gem mines, and Rattanakiri's famous Yeak Loam volcanic lake. Semi-precious gems and khmer Leu handicrafts and artifacts are Banlung's main souvenir offerings. The handicrafts are uniquely authentic - as likely made for use by local people as for the souvenir market - Back strap baskets, fabrics, gourd vessels, gongs and more semi - precious gems mined in Rattanakiri (primarily amethyst, zircon, peridot and obsidian), are cut and polished in Banlung and sold unset.
